In these days, affect that comics and animation gives to the economy can't be ignored. Then, I would introduce "Comic Convention" that is a core of comic industries.
Comic Convension is one of the most famous festival in USA-San Diego July 26-29th.
What kind of festival? So, do you know "Comic Market" in JPN? It is held in all summer and winter. Then plenty number of maniac people which likes comics and animation gather there. I think this is the biggest event for them.
"Comic Convention" is a kind of festival for "anime" fans. Many companies like marvel-comics, and many artists will join the festival. This is good occasion for them to promote and advertise their arts, goods, videogames like spider-man or batman, halo or something. Scale of the festival is not so large as JPN's "Comic Market", but excitement and prosperity of the event are not inferior to that of "Comiket (ComicMarket = most people call this event in this way)".
If you have a chance to visit San Diego and you have an interest to comic or animation, you should join there once at least!
