WHALES

Some people are talking about the problem of whaling and wondering why the international community is against Japan's whaling program. 2 points have been made by some Japanese and some writers here: 1. It is part of traditional Japanese culture (Well it was part of almost every country in the world's culture in the past but most countries have stopped the practice because of the decrease in whale numbers) 2. Other countries eat cows etc (There is one big difference..cows are farmed whereas we are unable to farm whales, so we can control cow numbers but whales we have no control over) Just a couple of points for you to think about!
