Govt hopes for better relations with Seoul
Tokyo anticipates improvement in relations with Seoul now that Lee Myung Bak has won South Korea's presidential election.
According to sources, Japan hopes the heads of the two countries will resume the shuttle diplomacy of periodical visits between the countries, which have been on hold since 2005. The government is even considering having Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda attend Lee's inauguration ceremony on Feb. 25.

Recently I watched a documentary about Kim Yonhi exploding Korean airplane. In the story 3 main characters who were all Japanese strive hard to find out the real truth. Since Kim Yonhi was a person from North Korea who used Japanese name to board into the airplane, three Japansese ambassadors were needed to reveal the truth that culpit is Korean, not Japanese because the diplomacy will be dangered if Japanese people did such a crime. I noticed the incident can alter the diplomat easily too!!
