the bank of koalas' sperms
Yesterday, in Australia, 12 koalas appeard to the public.
These koalas are born by artificial insemination. The group of Queensland University succeeded to keep koalas' sperms for 40 days. They are planning to found the bank of koalas' sperms.
I was surprised about this news because even though we have already had a technique to keep human sperms, we had not have it for koalas'. I think it maybe good if such technique can be applied to other animals in danger of extinction.

the 9th Article of the Constitution
Since North Korea's nuclear test in July disturbed Japanese people, Article 9 of the Constitution is now a controversial issue again in Japan.
Article 9 of the Constitution:
1. Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.
2. In order to accomplish the aim of the proceeding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.
(Source of info: Wikipedia)
The 9th article of the Constitution of Japan is very beautiful which every country in the world should follow in the future. However, Japanese government has changed its interpretation so many times to legalize the Japanese Self-Defence Forces because the situation has greatly changed after the World War 2.
Some people say that the article 9 should be revised so that the Self-Defence Forces will be legally permitted (realistic), while others say that the article 9 shoudn't be revised (idealistic).
This issue is very complicated and I can't write down all the information here. But in my opinion, the article 9 shouldn't be revised. The article was originally made by American people but this has been worked pretty well for the democracy of Japan.
The Self-Defence Forces should help people in trouble to play an improtant role in the international community, but they shouldn't be involved in war. The other day, Rice (U.S. Secretary of State) visited Japan and confirmed that Japan is under the U.S. nuclear umbrella to show that Japan is secured by the U.S.
Costa Rica has never had standing army. Why don't we promote our way of thinking to the world in the long run to achieve the world peace?
Romans do
Hi! Today, I’ll talk about strange Japanese customs to Europe people! One of the big differences which I think are well-known is whether we take off shoes or not when we enter a house. In general, most of us put off our shoes. However, in America it’s very rude. Because American people hate to have others walk around with smelly socks while Japanese hardly care about such a thing. We mainly care about someone’s dirty shoes! This differences come from the way of thinking. If we visit a house in America, it is proper to do “when in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
Ijime
I often see the words "Ijime" on the TV or newspaper.
The most impressive news related to "Ijime" for me was that school boy killed himself to get away from "Ijime".
He was burried by his classmates and his teacher!!!!
I could not believe this when I heard the news and now I can not either.
Another news said that a young teacher comitted a suicide because of "Ijime" by a teacher works at same school.
I think people do "Ijime" because of their weakness.
They are afraid of difference which others have and try to assimilate to or exclude that.
We must be strong mentally to live with others well I felt.
yikes
I've been having so much fun with my friends these days.
I really do love my friends a lot and want to be with them anytime.
But now I've got a problem. Whenever I come home late, my mom gets kinda angry.
And I feel sorry for her because she worries a lot and I guess that she doesn't like me coming home just to eat and sleep.
Even worse, when I'm home, I stay in my room and use computer because staying in the living room and watching TV is so very boring, so that I don't really have time to talk to my family.
I know it's not good but I don't know what I should do....
Do you guys have lots of time to talk to your family?

Docomo, au, or Softbank?
Recently in the cell phone companies, there are several new services appearing. For example, au has "Customer Satisfaction" service and Softbank has "Yoso-gai (unexpected)" service.
I watched a news that now Docomo is being a top by far, and au as a second, then Vodafone.
The news took a questionnaire to cell phone user and asked which cell phone company they would like to change since MNP service has started. The answer was au by far.
I have an image that Docomo is popular and au is very cheap. Vodafone... LOVE Service??
I think Softbank is also going to be popular near future.
Which company do you think will be the top in near future?

GAIJIN
The last Monday, a teacher said this word in a class, "Gaijin."
What do you imagine in hearing that word? Do you imagine blonde hair, blue eyes, white skin, or black skin, something else? Anyway what you imagine is "not Japanese," I think.
However, there's an exception - as for the Asian, especially Chinese or Korean, the image differs. That is, when we see them, we think them as "Chinese" or "Korean" rather than "Foreigner."
I don't know why I think so, but I'm sure that there's no proper word about "Foreigner" in Japanese... As the teacher told, the word "Gaijinn" is not good word, for that means "outside people." Even if someone who has featutres of European, African or else, has the nationality of Japan, we'll regard them as "Foreigher."
Why? It's difficult question for me...
children are safe in Japan?
The other day, I heard a very sad news which is about a three-years old girl who was dead due to abuse from her parents. I can't believe that there are such parents who can't love their own children in the world. I noticed it is a grateful thing to spend everyday with my family without any problems.

Today in the early morning, I went to OkuTama to take water for my friend's experiment.

Nuclear Weapons in North Korea
I read an article about North Korea's nuclear testing.
Yachi Shotaro, the minister of foreign affairs, said that
North Korea might be doing the nuclear test again
depending on the United States government's response.
After the conference between China and North Korea,
it is said that the possibitlity of nuclear testing in the near future is gone.
However, Japan's Government will make sure that
it will keep paying attention to every move that North Korea makes.
Recently I'm really scared about North Korea's bombing
which might be actually happening.
I hope all of asian countries will get along with each other in the future.

HIstory problems between China.
I read this news article that said the Chinese prime minister had made a flexible comment on history problems between China and Japan. The prime minister said about the history understanding issues that "It's not that we grasp the history problem and not letting it go for ever. By facing the history, we can turn our eyes to the futuer. The history problem between China and Korea has been a big problem for a long time and their opinions and ours have clashed every time. It seemed like there would never be a solution or a peaceful end to these problems, because there were no attitude to meet each other halfway in both country, them and us. But in this chance when Japan is starting a new government, we might be able to improve the situation. Making a good relationship with China and other East Asian countries is very important for Japan, especially now for North Korea's nuclear weapon problem.
MNP
Hello.It's still rainning.....
By the way,Mobile Number Portability service starts tommorow, news said.
Due to this service, we are able to change cell phone company without chaging phone number.
This servise is very useful becase we need not tell people new phone numbers again and again.
But to tell the truth, I don't have so much interest as I won't change my cell phone company for the time being.
How about you?Does this service have any influence on you?
What do you think of English education in Japan?
Hi,everyone.
How are you been?
Today is rain.and tomorrow too.
It always let me down...
Recently,I find article about English education in Japan.
Although many people in Japan learn English for six years(junior and high school),they almost can not speak English.Even introduct themselves!!!This is true..
Why this happen?
What did they do for six years ?
Well, actually the reason is that ..........the purpose of English education in school is to get possible to write and read.not speak....
But English squeezes in Japan day by day.so many Japanese have come to need it for these decades.
In particular speaking it.
They have to communicate with "gaijin" on work, business and sometimes life.
That's not rare.
But they hate shame.
They are afraid of failure, so don't try to it.
I think it's a strang thing.
Why we learn language?
To pass the test?
To compare with others?
Ofcourse that must be important, but the most important thing is to communicate with human...I think.
Conversation is the ability that only a human begin has.
Communication with other country people give us a lot of thing....cultures,sense of views ,and so on....
So,I think teachers should consider what is the most important for student, children in the future. This is my opinion.
A Car Navigation System
In Germany, one man had a car accident.
He followed exactly what his car navigation system told him, ended up crushing into the toilet which stand on the side of the rode.
On the other day, other German guy ignored a sign that said 'Under construction' because the navigation system told him to go straight.
Well, I could hardly understand why they belived a car nvigation system so much!!!
If they were more thoughtful, they would have never had such accidents.
People sometimes rely too much on computers.
I think that's because we think the computers are always precise.
We have to recoganize that the computers are not always right, and be aware of importance of analog world.
SNS
Do you know SNS? It stands for Social Networking Service.
Even if you don't know, you might know mixi. It's very popular among young people these days, that some people get involved in it too much.
The purpose of the SNS is to let people able to communicate with each other and get to know about their friends better. But I do not agree with this. From my experience, I think mixi worsens a relationship from time to time. What do you think about this fact??
I would love to hear your opinion.
young power
The Japan Series , which decides Japan baseball champiom began yesterday.
Yu Darvish pitched on the opening day. Although he was not good at the game, I think he was great. Because he is 20-year-old. He is young. I think it's great that people who are young and in our generation play important parts in big stage. When I see their activity, I feel that I have to work hard like them. It's good motivation for me.

for a change of pace
Hi.
Today I had a walk in Harajuku, Omote-sando, and Shibuya.
I didn't decide where to go, so sometimes I got lost.
But it was a very full experience for me because I found many attractive shops on the back streets.
People have their own means to relax or change their pace on a holiday.
I usually spend my free time on listening to music and walking.
I want to enjoy walks in various areas and make new discoveries!
the ozone hole
An expert of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported that the ozone hole above the South Pole have become bigger.
It covered 2900 square kilometers at its worst in 2000, and now the hole is approaching the record.
There are so many problems in the world and we sometimes forget global warming.
However it is a very serious problem that influence our future lives.
We destroy our lives and precious things ourselves.
We need to think about and move on it more.
Connection between life spans and calories
Do you want to live long? Yesterday, I watched a program whose theme was “life spans”. “Life spans” means how long we can live in the future. In the program, a professor lectured on the theme to TV stars. According to the professor, there is close connection between life spans and calories (quantity of how much we ate foods). The professor said that the more we gain calories, the shorter we can live. So it is important to control calories. If we stop eating to the extent of 60~70%, our life spans will increase, the professor suggested. Many animal-experiments which have been carried out by scientists have proved this fact. The professor also implied that it is important to get exercises. By exercising, we can work “Life-spans-cells” inside our body and the cells prevent us from aging. There is another positive aspect on controlling calories. We can keep our skin young and clean by this. This is good news for not only women but men too. So anybody who wants to live long and keep your skin young should control calories and take exercises!!
Expensive oil
Today I went to a gas station because the car was almost empty.
I asked clerk to fill the tank. I waited... and clerk came me and showed my bill.
I was shocked !!!!
It costs really high!! I think it was 5000 yen some years ago, but this time, it is 8000 yen...
Then, i think about the truck drivers like Kuroneko-yamato or Sagawa-kyubin.
Their tools are cars. They need gasoline, no matter how expenshive it is.
But if there are no gasoline, what can they do?
Also I remember the plastic pen case I use.
The plastic is made by oil. Our dairy stuffs are usually use plastics.
But if there are no oil, what can we do?
Our lives really rely on the oil and other resources.
We use them easily... and one day realize that the resources are limited.
Actualy This expensiveness is not caused by dissapearing of oil but the war in middle-East but one day we will face this unremovable trouble, the finished up resources.
Then, how should we do? should we use electricity, putting the nuclear power plants which bring people danger and complicated garvages? or should we use much more natural energy, having less power? can we endure in the lives like old era?
Before fasing the problem directly, we need think about the issue.
This gas station's bill remember me the problems of resources.
youguys! Please try to imagine the situation too!!
Thank you for reading;) seeya!
tomorrow...
hi everyone.
"if we won't be better tomorrow than we were today, then what do we need tomorrow for?"
Rabbi Nahman of Bratslav said this.
i don't know who he/she is, but i like what he/she said.
when i'm tired of everything, i think about "tomorrow" and feel like "how come we have tomorrow? would it be better than today? i don't think so..."
but i found those words and thought "the one who makes tomorrow better is MYSELF."
so i make efforts and do my best to make the day better. :)
if you are depressed or tired of everything, try to think you are the one who makes your life better!

patriotism
Hi, everyone!
Today, I found good news when I surfing the internet!
The company ORICON STYLE did a research to Japanese that “If you were born again, where would you like to live?”
The result was Japan is the no.1 county they would like to live in all generation.
When I found this news, I feel happy.
Maybe Japan is surely the country which an economic are rich, people have freedom (compared to other country), and also peaceful. Of course some problem is still left, and increasing, too. But they are the problems that nation could solve by ourselves. I want to belief that the people who replied this research have the enthusiasm for it.
Also, last semester I read the article about some elementary school evaluated the student’s patriotism. I thought that was ridiculous! But when I found this article, I convinced that the patriotism education is unnecessary.
Be proud of our country!
Peace:)
Education in Sweden
Hello! Recently I'm doing a research on the Swedish education for one of my class and I found out something interesting which I want to share with you all.
First did you know that in Sweden, the public school expenses from elementary school to high school is free? Although the high school education is not compulsory, many students choose to study in high school. Furthermore, school lunch is provided for free! As you can see, paresnts have to pay little for their child's education.
On the other hand, in Japan it coasts about 531ooooYen from going to public preschool to highschool. This is because many students, sepecially middle school students go to cram school, which raises the coast of school expenditure.
I think Japanese are spending too much money on their kids. If the student is taking school more seriously and listning to the lectures, that kid wouldn't have to go to the cram school. Also, Japanese government should promote the scholarship or student loan system for the college students. I think many of us are relying too much on our parents to pay the college tuition fee.
My priorities
hi there.
recently im too busy with my school to do what i want to.
I can hardly hang out with my friends and i work part time only once or twice a week..
since i decided not to receive money from my parents, i have to get money by working part time and manage on it.
i think i should reassure my priorities.
Hawaii-Asia Union ended in failure
The other day I watched NHK TV program and got to know the shocking history between Japan and Hawaii.
In the 19th century, the U.S. started to pay attention to Hawaii, where local people had their own lives, in the process of imperialism. After Kalakaua became a king of Hawaii, he tried to keep a good relationship with the U.S. by exporting sugarcane etc. However, rich American people bought half of the land of Hawaii, influenced Hawaiian politics, thought of Pearl Harbor as an important naval port of the U.S.
So Kalakaua was worried about it very much. He started to travel Asian countries with the idea of Hawaii-Asia Union against the U.S. imperialism. American guards traveled with him but they didn't know his idea at all.
Kalakaua first visited Japan in 1881 because his expectation toward Japan was the biggest. It was Meiji era. Japanese people welcomed him with a great hospitality. This was because Inoue Kaoru, Japanese diplomat who tried hard to abolish unreasonable agreements with Western countries, wanted to give a good impression to the U.S. through Hawaii.
Kalakaua was surprised to see the national power of Japan and met with Meiji emperor to carry out the framework of Hawaii-Asia Union. This idea was not bad for Japan because Japan was facing difficulties in disestablishing extraterritoriality or preferential tariff.
However, Meiji emperor declined the proposal in a polite way some months later, saying it was too hard to achieve. Actually, this was because Western countries started to react to Japan's request. Kalakaua died in 1891. And the U.S. annexed Hawaii to the 50th state of the U.S. If Japan said "yes" at that time, our history could be totally different. Do you think Japan should have said "yes"?
After that, Hawaiian culture was mostly banned for some years by the U.S. but the situation has changed. Kalakaua has been a hero in Hawaii.
I also want you to remember that Japan pulled the trigger at the Asia-Pacific War, bombimg beautiful Pearl Harbor and killed some beautiful Hawaiian people without any warning.
Thank you for reading the long posting.
Hello
hi, nice to meet you. I'm jaguar 2nd grade in AGU, and I used to learn from Sebachan during the spring term.
Now, I' m going to introduce my hobby.
It was 2 month ago when I began to play "DARTS." Since then, I' m really addicted to it!
Have you done? It's interesting :)
Darts was used to be regarded as a "gentleman's play," but now it's getting to be familiar in Japan. At first, even throwing darts was difficult, but little by little, I'm getting to point. If you've never tried, you should. You may be addicted, too .LOL
I'm going to take part in a big competition next month, so I have to practice harder!
thank you for reading my journal.
I'm glad to see you, and going to write sometimes.
See ya

"it will reduce the harm of nicotine"
Hi!
I read an article relating to cigarette.
On Oct.19, the Fair Trade Commission ordered 3 companies not to express " it can reduce the harm of nicotine" without rational evidence.
Since 2003, these companies have displayed in wrapping the goods "this will change about 80% of nicotine to vitamine","it will reduse nicotine and tar by secondhand smoking" . They have no data about the change of nicotine.
(Asahi)
I think these companies are thoughtless. I think they thought not consumer's health but only thier profit. Nowadays, many people worry about the harm of cigarette and the atmosphere around us is changing to stop smoking. All the companies giving us goods which effect our health should have responsibility.
thank you for reading!
I want to go for a trip!!
Recently, I don't go out in the distance.
Because there are not time and money.
At an unknown place, I want to come in contact with a person and food.
Someday I go to a trip without a purpose^^

Exercise is important to be a career woman
Recently i noticed that Exercise is important to be a career woman!!
Sometimes i think about why the man is always higher than the woman. I don't wanna to accept it.
But You KNOW? it is still true.
So, I tried to ask some guy who has a lot of knowledge what do you do everyday?
How to spend your life time?
He answered,"I play Judo everyday, I study at school after Judo, and I go to laboratory until
midnight. something like this."
"WoWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOO" I said.
His vitality is sooooo nice!!
I puted together my thought. I thought that the woman lack the vitality ,if we generally
compare the man and the woman.
Therefore I will try to do excircise and to study my major!!
Vitarity is important!!
Girls Power!!!!!
Tuna!!!
My mother used to live near a port when she was young, so she loves seafood.
Everytime I back home during the holiday, she always welcome me with Sashimi.
I love seafood and this welcome dinner very much!!
But there is a bad news.
I've read a news article that said "The number of tuna fish is decreasing, and by 2007, we could have only half amount of tuna".
The reason of decrease is that, because people cought the fish too much...
Well, not only me and my mother but also many Japanese people love tuna fish.
I hope to be able to see tuna and other fish at the table in the futuer too.
Bullying
Today i want to talk about something serious ― Bullying in Schools.
As you know, recently a 13-year-old boy killed himself
to set himself free from bullying at junior high school.
Usually, the biggest problem about bullying is that
people don't notice that the person is getting bullied.
as a matter of fact, the boy who commit suicide was telling
his friends that he would kill himself on the day he died.
however, his friends didn't take his words seriously
and didn't care about it too much.
they realized that he was suffering AFTER he is dead.
i wonder why they couldn't realize that sooner, at least while he was alive.
After high school, we don't really see bullying any more
but if you have younger sisters or brothers,
just talk to them and see if they're doing okay.
wow im so surprised that i actually wrote ↑ this above ↑
this is the first time that i write something really serious
in couple years...
do you agree or disagree?
50s lady gave birth to her own grand child as surrogate. Since the first time I heard this news, I habe thought it is no problem at all. It is hard to understand why some people oppose to surrogate a real mother who can not give birth for some reason.
Isn't it a great news that informing the possibility to have own baby even yourself is in some difficult situation to give birth to children?
Good idea!
Hello.
Today, I'll introduce you the news about the smoking rate targeted value.
To reduce the adult smorking, the ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare found numerical target of reduction of the smoking rate that they should achieve by 2010.
Now in '04, male smorking rate is 43.3% and that of women is 12.0%.
Ministry exmine that they should reduce these numerical values to 30% about male and 10% about women.
I hope this challenge will be success.

Gropers
Today, my friend told me that she was offended by a groper this morning. She lives by herself in Machida, and on her way to Machida station from her apartment a man riding on a bicycle followed her all the way looking at her face laughing in a exetremely close distance. She said she was very scared and run to the woman who was walking a little ahead.
These days you can hear about gropers appearing in trains, streets and everywhere everyday. Girls need to be aware of every unfamiliar man when gettin on a train. If you are a highschool girl going to school by train in the center of Tokyo, allmost everyone has been offenden by a groper once or twice.
What are ways to deffend us from gropers? Introducing women only cars is a way to protect women, but it isn't a thorough settlement to wipe out gropers. Some times plainclothes policemen are under cover but it is hasn't achieved a big success becase the nomber of policemen under cover is too small. I think that they should take this problem more seriously and increase the nomber of officers under cover. We also need think other ways to wipe out gropers.
bullying in junior high school
hey:) Today, I'll talk about the news that 8th grade student commit suicide caused by bullying.
Few days ago, a 8th grade student commit suicide leaving a suicide note. His parents press his teacher for an answer wheter the teacher bullied the boy or not. Then the teacher agreed that he bullied the boy because it was easy for the teacher to tease that boy.
Can you believe that? Usually bullying is made by other students, but in this case, the bullying was made by the TEACHER! Bullying is originally bad thing, but this case is the worst case of bullying, I think. I'm very angry and dissapointed about this case.
Last Friday
Last Friday, I went to see my high school friends at Yokohama. Most members were girls except for two (including me). We’ve known each other since we learned in U.S. almost one year has passed since we gathered round last. We were really excited at chatting about our experiences in U.S. Because our experiences included too many funny stories!! We had a lot of blasts, sorts of happening and affairs. We shared these sweet memories again. We also talked about each campus life. I was very surprised that one of them, who is a student of some department at W University, told me that she almost had no time to hang around or she rarely drink like a fish!! The reason was she was too busy with homework and assignments of the University. Moreover, I heard that she was forced to take TOEFL tests once a month since this April (and she got a score by more than 213!! Awesome!!) That’s why she has no time! Soon as I admired her for her diligence, I felt YABAI. I have got to study harder and harder!! I don’t mean to compete against her, but I want to improve my English skills!! I want to be a good Spanish speaker too!! I want to know a lot about this world!! So I will try to!! See you at university!!
books
hi there!! now there is a sign of autumn in the air.
you know, Japanese often say "OO no aki", and OO refers to appetite, reading and...anything!!
everybody says that autumn is the best season for reading, but...
im bad at reading. books makes me sleepy even though they are said very interesting^^;
i did try starting to read novels many times, but only some of them i finished reading.
but im thinking of reading books this autumn!! could anyone tell me what novel is interesting and easy to read?
Nobel Peace Prize
I read the article,Nobel's "peace" now means development,in the Japan Times of yesterday. It means the goal of the act is changing from security involving war or conflict to improvement.
Bangladesh's Grameen Bank and its founder Muhammad Yunus won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for their revolutionary microlending system. It means He found the bank and support the poor people annoying with the indirect debt.I think his effort is great and also effective in the people in Bangldesh.
Bangladesh is still said to be poorest country in the world. what can we do for them?I think the first thing to do is not to start just new projects. It is to rethink their condition and evaluate what makes them annoy.
What do you think?
Thank you for sharing!!
In this morning, I heared loudy music from a car.
It was so noisy and I guess everyone thought so.
And the moment, I rememberd an experience in America.
It was in a similar situation like this morning,,,car with loudy music, annoying people,,,
But at that time, one of my friends gave a shout, 'Thank you for sharing!!' .
It was surprising me at the way of thinking because she wasn't angry at him at all, moreover, she thanked for him. (It may be an insinuation.)
From this, I learned that how we think and feel can dramatically change how much we can enjoy in our lives.
Obviously, it's better to have a life with joy.
So, let's start positive thinking!! We are too serious about our lives.

Tower Records
Hi!! Today, I'd like to introduce shocking news about tower records.
Do you like walking into music store tolooking for nice music?
Tower Records is major music company and I used to go this CD shop frequently because Tower Records have a great section and their service is so good.
10/13/2006 2:35PM, the major company, Tower Records was closed down.
"Going out of Business" signs went up this week at Tower's 89 stores in 20 states and the chain's 3,000 employees have been told that they will be laid off.
The loss of Tower Records took place against the back ground of decline in music sales. Recentry, downloading of online music is became very common in the world.
I think buying CD is more meaningful than downlording same music in the Internet.
Only music data is not satisfactory for me.
How dou you feel about this news??
BYE!!
the Jury system in Japan vol.2
Catherina said,
"if we are given a chance to do so(be a jury), I think we will be able to come up with our own opinion and be a good jury. "
I think it's going to be a chance to think independentaly, however, in the jury system in Japan
is different from the other countries like U.S. I
I think you guys have an idea of Jury in U.S. but about the juries in Japan they have to refer a matter with judges who are professional. Isn't is so hard to think independently?
Japanese are shy people who can't speak up with the matters which they are not clearly sure.
Japanese are more like 'better half 'people. They don't seek the truth, they seek a point of compromise.
Japanese Culture
Yesterday, I watched a TV program about Japanese Culture in the world.
According to the TV program, BBC said, the country which has the best influence is Japan.
Japan is the top of 190 countries.
I was suprised to know that.
Today, Japanese culture is very popular in the world, and there are a lot of people who love Japanese culture such as novel, manga, fashion, and food.
I think we should know the fact and be proud of our culture.
Childrens' physical strengh declining
Hello! Today I'd like to introduce a shocking article involving children.
According to the research conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2005, childrens' physical strengh from elementary shool to high school is showing a declining tendency compared to the past. Causes of the decline are 1. watching TV for long time 2. not eating breakfast.
Also, serious cases have been reported from schools. In one case, some children can't run straight in the race, which is showing the decline in their balance ability. According to the sports supervisor, this is because children these days tend to stay at home and play video games rather than go outside and play tag.
To me, it's surprising that children rarely play outside beacuse when I was in elementary school, I used to play tag with my friends almost everyday. I know that stuff like computer games are very attractive, but we shouldn't forget the joy of running outside and playing sports.
bullying problem
Hi!
Today, it's really sunny and comfortable weather outside! But, I would like to write about serious news in Japan.
Recently, two news of committed suicide by junior high school students has appeared.
In case of Nara Prefecture, suspected assault the bullying of a 13-year-old boy, was verbally abused daily by a dozen students, or more than half his class. Besides calling him "disgusting" and "stinky," they threw stones at him.
In early September, the boy started receiving text messages on his mobile phone three times a week that said he was "hated by everyone" and was "terrible."
Later that month, the boy stopped going to school after being told by a fellow student to stop attending school, and that he should "die."
(The Yomiuri Shimbun Oct.11)
When I heard about this news, I was really depressed. I have never experienced such bullying, so I can understand his feeling just objective, not realistic.
Also, I can't understand why bullying has carried out. We all have our personality, so it is general that everyone is not a same. But they could't understand that.
Bullying is difficult to solve by adults or school. But not to turn a blind eye to bullying is needed for the problem.
If you have a time, please read the book called "knife", written by Kiyoshi Shigematsu. It is the story about bullying, so it can help you to think about these problems.
Thank you for reading. c-ya! :)
Can't help it!!!
Hi everyone, how's it going?

Japanese image of American people
Hey, I'm very happy to have enough time for sleeping this weekend! Today I wanna show you some of the typical images of Japanese people that American people have.
Actually I do heard the following in the U.S. It's funny!!
1. Japanese girls hide their faces with folding fans ("sensu") when they smile.
2. Station staffs push passengers into a crowded train and that passengers are happy.
3. There are still some SAMURAIs in Japan!!
4. Everything is expensive and people work hard but they live in small apartments. Are they happy?
5. In winter season Japanese people sit down on warm seat in the bathroom and wash their ass with warm water from bidet.
6. Japanese people are healthy because Japanese food is healthy.
7. In Japan, it costs to drive highways. Also, traffic jams are crazy in Japanese highways.
8. Japanese people drive fast.
It's funny yeah? Some of them are true but some are not.
Now think about some stereotypes that YOU have in your mind.
"All black people can run fast and sing a song very well." That's not true!! OK?
Thank you for reading. ^ O ^*)

NEETs
This week our writing class' teacher gave us a handout about NEET for our paragraph essay assignment. Through reading this, I think about NEETs.
NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) people are who do not work, study in any schools and participate to any job-training.
There are no firm definition, sometimes it includes the university students who don't attend to classes at all or "housekeeping-helpers"(in Japanese "Kaji-Minarai") who do nothing in their home.
Recently this NEETs are increasing suddenly, excessively. According to Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, there are more than 520,000 of NEETs in 3 years ago.
We sometimes joke on those NEETs, but it is not just laughing problem.
Its social problem is that they don't contribute to the society.
They don't earn moey.
So working people may have to establish some support system for NEETs, putting efforts and money they earned.
To make matters worse, our aging society will need much more workers and tax.
However NEETs won't be able to help both necessities.
I don't want to just criticize NEETs. That never generates any resolution.
To be NEETs is easy in this society. Also To neglect NEETs is easy, too.
But we know that NEETs bringing about big problems soon.
What should we do to reduce, and help NEETs?
I would like to hear you!

an accident in NYC
Hi, everyone.
Today, I read an article "Yanks' Lidle dies in small plane crash in NYC."
A small airplane owned by Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle slammed into the side of an exclusive Manhattan apartment tower Wednesday. By this accident Lidle and a flight instructor died but miraculously no one in the building are seriously injured.
This crash made people to remind 9/11 and sparked fears of terror across the city.
According to the article, the cause hasn't been clear but it seems that the pilot was Lidle.
When I heard this news at first, I was really surprised because I thought it was terror. But in fact, it was not. So I felt relief while I was sorry that one baseball player died in the accident.
According to the article, right after the first report of the crash, the millitary were called in for fear of terrorism. I think the fear of 9/11 will never gone from America and the force never bring us happiness.
hope to Japan
Just the other day, the new prime minister, Shinzo Abe has started his job. He is Japan's yongest leader since World War 2. Although I am not so expecting much to him for any awesome thing, hope he will do something good to Japan, especially about the relationship between China and Japan. Every one hopes the improve of Japanese society's quality and to live in peace.
saga-sai
Yesterday, we did a big thing with friends who have shared the time to achieve one goal on the day, Sagamihara-sai. It was very fine day as pleasureing our stage. I thought it was awesome thing to try one thing to make it great with friends. Although it was such a nice day, I got desapointed after I went to my friend's house and watched the news telling us about the newclear test in North Korea. I can not understand why they try to do such a terify thing. I do not believe the peace which is guaranteed by some forces exist. It is the best that all the people love each other without any hatred feelings.

the girl who was involved in a suicide
Hi.
There was an accident that a university student got hit by the lady who was leaping to death in this morning. The lady died in a moment and the girl fell into a critical condition.
Suicides are wasting of irreplaceable lives. Do you know how the people who was left behind feel? It is horrible... I know how it feels. The lady did not know the feeling so that she could leap to death. Also in this case, the lady involved in another person. It is the worst case of the suicide. The lady sholud have thought about it.
Jury system in Japan
From 2009, Jury system will start in Japan.
In the important trials such as murder trials, adults are summoned and judge the trials as
juries.
What do you think about it ?
In my opinion, I'm very afraid.
I 've never judge people which would decide his of her life ,moreover, Japaese don't have the habit to judge independently.
In Japan, atmosphere decides everything( we are likely to lean to one side).
This atmosphere is called 'Ba' in Japanese.
For example, in during WW2 Japan couldn't end the war because of 'ba' even if generals had already known that Japan can't win the war.
Do you think we can be a jury ?? I want to hear your opinions.
How do you do.
Ladies and gentlman, how do you do.
I will introduct myself.
I am a senior student. My hobby is playing basketball for 13 years.
My English skill is so poor, but I want to communicate with a lot of people.I manage to do it.
I have not been to abroad,so I wish do it someday.
Hello!!
This is my first time to post Blog. In fact, I didn't know how to do it.
I like drinking. But recently, I don't.
If I could dirnk, I want to drink Japanese white distilled liquor and tequila.
If you want to drink, what kind of alcohol do you drink?
Unfortunate actions
Recently, there has been a news about North Korea's nuclear test.
On TV and news papers, we can see many articles related to this story such as, "Is Japan going nuclear as well?" However, I have found an interesting article. It was about Korean people living in Japan. They are now worried that they may be treated badly in Japan due to those tests. Unfortunately, Korean schools in Japan received threating letters after the missile test which took place in July, and had become the target of harassments.
I couldn't believe why people do such things like this.
It's very cruel, and meaningless as well.
Even if people take violent actions, that wouldn't be any help to solve problems.
It may worsen the situation instead.
I don't know how to conclude this, but this is what I felt and thought from hearing this news.
My dog is sooooooo slow
My boom is exercise lately!! So i wanted to go running last monday afternoon.
When i went out my home, my dog stared at me.
I felt that my dog want to go out with me.
So, I told my dog "I will go to running, ok? Can you go running with me?"
Of course no reply. I pitied my dog......
I desided to go out with my dog. It seemed gooood.
Buuuuuut........few minutes later
my dog didn't move. she was too tired.
About me, I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to move more.
Because of my dog, we went home...
Generally, the dog is more energetic than human...haha
I was so shocked when i notice that my dog is weak than me.

CURRENT EVENTS CLASS - NEWS ARTICLE
To all Current Events students.....
Don't forget that next week you need to bring your news article report to class...
Cheers,
Sebastian
just being busy....
I've been super duper busy.. But I feel like that it makes my days way better, somehow.
Doing the same things everyday makes me sick of my life, because I get bored easily.
I've got some problems, though, that is, I don't have much time to spend time with my family. I leave home early every morning, and I come home late. So all the things I do at home are, eat something, take a bath, and sleep. I used to talk to my family, especially my mom, but not anymore. I'd love to spend more time with my family, it's really important for me.
Sagamihara Sai
Yesterday was the last day of Sagamihara Sai.

Toshimaru, who is the bassist of the band, was so cool lol
i learnd through Sagamihara Sai that
nothing is greater than achieving something with my friends.
i really love you guys lol

Helps for handicapped students
I read a news in the newspaper that Nerima-ward is going to start a new project to help handicapped students attend school. The article said that a highscool student in Nerima-ward send a letter to the ward saying "I want to go to scool," and asking of care worker to help him go to scool with a weel chair. Nerima-ward accepted this and is starting a project for this. I think that this is a brilliant news. Being able to go to school by myself was too natural for me and I had hardly thanked this, but I noticed that I should be pleased about this. Although most people are able to go to school if they wish to in Japan, there are still children who can't go or have difficulties going to school and we can't abandon them. It made me think of the right to receive education.
English.
Today was the last day of Sagamihara Festival. I think many of the students in this department had a great time!!
After I came home, I read many people's diary entry and was suprised by how good those English were!! Not only are they fluent, but also meaningful!!
In today's world, there are many English speakers.
Long time ago, it was important for people to be able to just speak English, but nowadays I think that is not enough. In order to communicate, we have to be able to speak meaningful English.
I want to be able to do that someday.
Mr.Abe visited China
Shinzo Abe visited China on Sunday and it was the first time for him to trip abroad as Japanese prime minister.
The Japan-China relations have gone cold because of Yasukuni-shrine problem etc.
So Japan and China agreed that they try to do their best to solve the problems rehabilitate the relationship in the future.
I think it is very important that Mr.Abe chose China as the first country to visit.
Maybe he wanted to express his idea that he thought rehabilitation of the relationship between Japan and China was essential.
It is the time for Japan to cooperate and understand each other with other Asian countries.
I hope that he will take a step in the right direction.
Great change in fast foods!!!
"McDonalds, McDonalds! Kentucky Fried Chiken and a Pizza Hut!!"
Have you ever heard this song before?
I remember singing it in my childhood with a little dance to it. I enjoyed singing it, but as I recall that memory, a kind of worry arose within me. It obviously tells children how tasty and good they are, as well as influence them to actually take action and go to such places.
Needless to say, many people around the world do tend to eat fast foods. Especially in the United States where those franchised fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, KFC and Wendy's originally came from. It's true that they are quite attractive. They are cheap, tasty, and fills your stomach in such a short time. Some even have party rooms for the kids to enjoy in. It's like a "dream world", some may say.
But they never tell that those foods are causing obesity, which is the highest death rate in the U.S, do they?
But good news folks!!!
I found an interesting news article in the Japan Times.
New York is proposing a new idea for such restaurants to change their oils, butter and shortenings so that they have less 0.5 gram of trans fats per serving! And those meals are said to taste no different from the ones before! This must be a very good news for the people who love fast foods
But will I go??
Maybe not...I guess I'll stick to natural foods.
Individualism and collectivism
There are teothings. It is often said that individualism is true of U.S, whereas collectivism is true of Japan. Long time ago, When I visited U.S,I felt “individualism” directly. When we had to decide what we did next, they often said, for example, “You don’ have to stay at Washington and eat dinner. You can go back to College Park and eat there” This is greatly impressive to me. In Japan, we are often supposed to do the same thing with everyone (though it is a little bit less in these days). Apart from which one is better, I felt really comfortable. Because in Japan I sometimes had to do what I didn’t wanted to do!!
Sagasai
Yesterday, we joined soccer (MINI) tounaments. And we won the match by a score of 2-0 ( am I right??) Before the game began, I was really really nervous. Because too many people were coming to see our games. But once I played , and as the noumber of touching the ball was increasing, I could play as usuall. And we finally won!! When Murakka got a definitive goal, we team members hugged!! today, we will play for quater final. Though they are strong than ever, we will do our best!!
Tuna fishing in Indonesia
This summer I had a chance to meet a rich Japanese businessman. He told me an interesting story and I wanna let you guys know. The story is about tuna fishing in Indonesia. According to him, price of tunas is now going up in Japan because we can import fewer tunas than before. And one of the reasons is that we get fewer tunas from Indonesia. And he himself headed to Indonesia to see the situation with his own eyes. What is surprising is that Indonesian people fish only 1 or 2 tuna(s) in one day with a small banana boat!! Crazy!! And you know what!? They carry those heavy tunas with their shoulders!! I mean Indonesian government made a rule to prevent overfishing. They wanted to protect their environment from Japan. Now the situation seems to be better.
Japanese people love sea foods. And we often influence marrine lives in the world. For example, We overfished whales before. What is more, we love shrimps very much and we are killing plenty of mangroves in Thailand. So we always need to think what is right and what is wrong in our lives. Nature is not ours. But we have to live as a human. So the keyword is "symbioses." This applies to our human lives. We have differnt culture, different language, different way of thinking, different religion, but we should live together on this planet. Consider what you should do to let other guys live with you. That's it! Thanks.

Communication by Sport
Hi, everyone! Nice to meet you.
Today, it was the first day of my university's festival. My department "International Communication" runs for a special cafe. Students who tend the cafe wear their high school's uniform in the cafe! It's fun, isn't it?
In the afternoon, I saw the game of futsal which boys of the Department "International Communication" took part in. By the way, do you know "futsal"? Futsal is one type of soccer that needs only 5 people. Its scale is smaller than that of a normal soccer, but I feel it is really enjoyable.
We won't have to use languages in the game, but all player shoots for getting one goal. After the game, they'll be able to feel friendship with not only own team's members but also another team's player. Sports can get over the wall of Language. I really feel so in today's game.
As a result, "International Communication" team got 2 goals and won the game! Tomorrow they will have the next game. I want them to do their best and enjoy the futsal game.
nuclear weapons
Hi everyone! Today I write about the nuclear test in North Korea.
Last week North Korea reported that they had decided to perform the test of thier nuclear weapon.
I was really shocked by this news.
We have learned a lot about nuclear weapons since we were in elementary school. The education was not perfect, but we know that nuclear weapons are cruel. It kills, injures and makes suffer people physically and mentally. It also harms the earth. So, why they want do test?
However, then I remember that not only North Korea but also other countries have nuclear weapons.
China has, Russia has and the US has......
To be strong, or to have big power, should people show off big violence?
Of course I don't want North Korea to perform the nuclear test.
Though, the other countries which have nuclear weapons are OK??
Now to stop new test is important, but I think we also must work on decreasing whole nuclear weapons.
ooo, looong statements... seeya.
school lunch in elementary school.
hi there!!
today I watched TV about school lunch in elementary school.
in one private elementary school in Kyoto, children have school lunches, which are cooked by chefs from a famous hotel. That sounds great, but actually there is a problem. the charge for school lunches are twice as expensive as that in other schools. for that, some parents in that school don't pay any money. now teachers are much in trouble because even though they don't pay the charge, teachers have to provide a school lunch to all students. I was very surprised to hear that. the parents should pay money, they must know the school has such a special school lunch program...
Underdogs
Good evening, everyone.
Have you ever heard this word, "underdog"? It normally means something that is expected to lose, or that is weak and is always treated badly. Today, I want to introduce my important book "Underdogs" to everyone.
It consists of many picture (took by Jim Dratfield)of cute dogs that are mongrel , highbred but not popular, or don't have clear blood. Also the book has famous saying of well-known people such as Charles M. Schulz, John F. Kennedy, Confucious, Albert EinStein and Oscar Wild.
When I feel sad or worried or upset, I always open this book. Ofcourse, everytime it doesn't necessarily tell the cues for solving the problem, but it remind me of important thing and I'll be able to feel calm.
Now I will show you some my favorite special sayings.
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.---Marcel Proust."
"I am what I am, so take me as I am.---Johann Von Goethe"
"I take a simple view of living. It is to keep your eyes open and get on with it.---Sir Laurence Olivier"
I hope that you can get something from these sayings!
Learning from my part time job
After reading a post of NONNO, I also felt like writing about what I learned from doing a part time job.
What I think from doing the part time job is about freeters.
There might be some people who do not know what freeters is, so I would like to paste a definition of freeters from Wikipedia.
Freeters is a Japanese expression for people between the age of 15 and 34 who lack full time employment or are unemployed, excluding housewives and students. These people do not start a career after high school or university but instead usually live as parasite singles with their parents and earn some money with low skilled and low paid jobs. The low income makes it difficult for freeters to start a family, and the lack of qualifications make it difficult to start a career at a later point in life.
The number of freeters are increasing in recent years, and that has been a problem of Japan. However, at my part time job, I learned the importance of freeters. There are many freeters at my job. Freeters can work many hours compared to students who can only work few hours at night. If there were no freeters at my job, it would be very difficult to maintain the place. I think there are many place that need freeters as a employee, and in each place freeters play an important role. It has been said that freeters are bad and they are problem of Japan, however, I think Japan is needing freeters in some ways. If freeters are a problem, Japanese government should change the working system that is relying too much on freeters and try to decrease the number of them.

Isn't it beautiful?
The moon is so beautiful, isn't it.
Tonight, I 'm looking at the moon. It's so bright and beautiful.
Everyday, we are having busy days and forgetting how beautiful the nature is.
It's surely fun to enjoy shopping, playing sports, watching TV, drinking, however,
I want people to have a time to see and feel the natural beauty.
I think it is a simple thing to do, but a very important thing.
People who can't feel can't move their heart and soul anymore.
Before having a dull soul, remember and help yourself.
Hi, everyone!!
Hello, this is my first time to write.
Today, I couldn't find good current news, so I want to write about music.
These days, I listen to music in 1960s or 1970s.
Most songs of them are very famous. Everyone knows.
I think it is great that people knows the songs which is so old.
I wonder which songs in this age will continue to be listened in future.
I can't guess.
Hi, everyone!
Today, I'd like to write about Japanese girl's trend.
Have you ever received an E-mail or text message using some small letters of Japanese? In these days, it is observable that change the part of words into "small letter". This is the vogue of girl's E-mail, especially in middle school through university students. They change normal letters into small letters if it is not necessary part.Girls think these technique of using small letters in E-mail, makes their mail prettier.
I think this trends are the way of their self-expressing without any conversation.Generally, E-mail is said to be "No face communication" and difficult to read what they thinking. By using these technique, girls are trying to become or show them prettier. But, I don't want to use these technique. Because it is really difficult to read, and also impolite. When I received such kind of E-mail, I don't get happy feelings.
What do you think about these things?
Since my writing is messy and many wrong grammar, I am so sorry if you can not understand the meaning.
SEE-ya!!

automatic cash registers
Hello again! This time I would like to write about some interesting thing I found when I visited United States this summer.
When I was shopping at a store and waiting in a line to pay for my products, one of the cash register was automatic without cashier! I was surprised, because there are no automatic cash registers in Japan. This is how it works; first, you scan products by the bar code reader. Then, the machine will show you the total price, so you insert your bills and coins in the machine. Finally, you get your change and put your purchased items in the plastic bag by yourself.
As I said before, automatic cash registers are not common or maybe they don't exist in Japan, but I'm sure we will be seeing these machines in our local supermarket soon!

baby :"??????? expensive??"
Rose :"Yes. ??????"
she thought that i told her about her Back which means "hip".

guns in U.S.
Hi! I am Angela.
This is the first time for me to post a journal and I really want to make it interesting!
This morning, I was very shocked to hear the news of the accident in U.S.
A man who was a taxi driver bursted into the Christianity elementarry school in Pennsylvania
on early Tuesday morning.
He took the students as hostage and shot some of them to death.
The death toll from the accident climbed to six in all, including the criminal who committed suicide.
This kind of accidents happens one after another in U.S.
A man held a female student as hostage and holed up in the classroom in Colorado, and finally he killed the girl and himself with a gun on September 27th.
And on 29th in Wisconsin, a fifteen-year-old high school student shot the principal and he died.
It is much easier to get a gun in U.S. than in Japan.
Why do people in U.S have guns?
It's because they try to protect theirselves with guns.
But I think that the thing that ought to be a mean for protecting people's lives have became a weapon.
I think guns shouldn't be familiarize to our daily lives.
Guns never make societies better...
English education
Hi!
Today, I read an article about English education in Philippine. And I think about it in Japan.
In Asia, Philippine people's English ability is high level because America used to govern Philippine. However, it is a problem now that Philippine people's English ability is going down, while the demand for English is higher. There are call centers from Western countries and many overseas students come to Philippine. So people who can use English can get jobs easily. And the Philipine government oblige to use English in all classes from the 3rd year of elementary school so that people's English ability becomes higher.
In Japan, English education is a topic which people often pay attention. I think this Philippine government's idea is good. But, if this is done in Japan, it will return to a problem. I think studying English is neccessary, but studying Japanese is also very important. So I do not think earlier studying English is good education. We Japanese should know about Japan more. I think it is not too late to study English after studying Japanese well. What do you think?
My changing
Hi, everyone. I'm nonno.
I will write about the changing in me.
I think my part-time job changed me or my lifestyle a bit.
First, it widened my world; got new friends who work at the same shop.
My joy was found only in being with I.C.department friends before, but recently,
I can enjoy being or talking with workers.
Second, it made me learn how the money is important a lot.
In my job, may be in all jobs as well, I got hardships sometime.
And it made me think of big love my parents give me; their effort enables my great life now.
My part time job is a teacher for me; enrichs my life.
Good morning!!
Hi! I'm tachi. It's my first time to create this posting.
Well, I couldn't find any good news to write...
But I found some interesting article, so I would like to talk about that today.
The Center Examination has started to accept the application form.
The number of 4-year-university that uses the Center Examination increased from 594 universities last year to 607 universities this year.
Last year, the Center Examination had trouble on the new listening test. This year, they changed the substance of earplug that sticks to IC player.
When I read this article, the terrible memories of last year's examination came up on my mind.
My result of the Center Examination was terrible!!!!!
The listening test was easy, but I remember I did bad on the world history..
okay, I was going to write more about this, but it's almost time to go to school!!! Well, see you later!!

A week passed since the vacation has gone.I see many friends changing more or less. Some people studied abroad for about a month, some were eagered over the activity of the club or circle and some did part-time job so hard.Of course I also enjoy so much!!but nothing left except joy or memory with friends. It might be enough.yes... it should be...I just regret to learn nothing during this summer.I don't mean it's to learn English or other subjects. It's mean something related to my own personalize.I have noticed my ignorance about everything before. But I don't know what i should do. I wanted to find out in this summer. It is so regretable for me.What do you learn during this summer.Let me know...bye.

Hi, guys!!
Hi, everyone! How are you doing? I'm c-b-g☆ I'm a little nervous writting in this blog. hahah
Today, I'm gonna write about smoking manner in our univercity, AGU. I'm sure that you see people who smoke in Sagamihara campus everyday... but do all of them smoke at proper place? The answer is no. I see many smokers sit around the place not for smoking and make the campus messy. This is not right... we should make it clear that smokers can smoke only around ashtrays.
Storm in Manila
I read a news about storm in Manila, Philippines. It said that 76 people are dead, 81 people are injured and 69 people are still missing. What is more, 146,000 houses are half broken and about 170,000 people are still taking refuge. I was very shocked to hear this news, and at the same time, I was curious why this shocking situation was caused. In Japan, not so many people are killed or injured in storms these days. Is it because the climate is different from Philippines? Or is it because of the sanitation, style of buildings, or some other aspects? I wish that the casualities will decrease by analyzing the cause and improving the present situation.
Hi there!!
Hi everyone.
I'm marja kakku. this is my first time writing in this website. nice to meet you all!!
recently I'm always thinking about my future. I'd like to live in a country spoken English, so I want to improve my speaking English skill. and I'm thinking of studying abroad for a year during being in the university. but... everyone says that students in other countries have tons of homework and study harder than students in Japan. I heard from one of my friends that some students out there go on drugs in order to manage to finish their study.. I was very suprised, I couldn't imagine being under pressure and stress about study. I don't have enough confident to keep up with study. is there anyone who is planning to study abroad for more than one year?
Hello!
This is my first time to write in this blog. I wish I could have more chances to think about current news through writing in this blog.
Three days ago, I heard a news about nine-year-old girl was stabbed three times in the chest and arm by a man on her way home from a cram school, about 6:25 p.m, in Hyogo Prefecture.
When I was in elementary school, such affair was hardly occurs. So I could go to school securely, and play outside with my friends cheerfully. In these days, almost all elementary school student carry burglar alarm to protect themselves from degenerate. Why Japan became such a dangerous country? I think government or police should take preventive measures against such affairs. And try to make more comfortable society.
Nice to meet you!!!!

it's been long time i wore a school uniform last.

Global Chat
Global Chat
Hi, I'm Nesian Mystik, which means "All the untouched pearls of the Pacific" in the Maori language. Nice to have a chance to chat with many people in this blog. Well I want to pick up "information addict " as one of the global issues today. Thanks to the technology, people in developed countries can get a lot of information from TV, Internet, newspapers, cell phones, and so on. And some of us are almost addicted to information that comes from media. But they are missing something important. We have to choose which information we really need. We were happy without any electrical devices long time ago. Also, we should judge whether the information is certain or not because media constructs reality. Media literacy is becoming much more important. So I think we sometimes need to escape from this information society to somewhere we can have vacation not to be crazy! Ha ha... Thank you.
Accidents caused by drunk driving
Hello!
Recently, I see lots of news and articles about drunk driving in Japan. I believe the news about drunk driver killing 3 young children in a car crush in Fukuoka prefecture is still fresh in our memory.
I also read an article today that some Japanese car companies are working to develop cars which promotes prevention of drunk driving. For example, one company is already working to create a car with a system which the sensor catches the driver's breath and judge whether he or she had liquor or not. If the driver is drunk, then the engine of the car automatically stops.
I cannot believe that after hearing about these accidents, many people still drive while there drunk and be in a accident. To reduce such accidents, I think it is important for each of us to raise awareness of dangers of drunk driving. What do you think?
