We will never be overweight?

Last Friday, I read an interesting article in USA TODAY. "Scientists find hunger gene." A team of France and Swiss scientists said they discovered a hunger gene in mice that could pave the way for treatments for obesity or alcoholism. The gene generates signals warning of hunger, partly based on a notion of time. The scientists managed to decrease and even cut off the signals of hunger in their experiments. I think this discovery is great because it will prevent being overweight and alcoholism. But on the other hand, I wonder whether it is good to operate our gene. We will not be fat and alcoholism without the operation if we take care of ourselves seriously.
