Wiping distrusts off ?

I read a news article about the State Department of the United States has apoointed some named people like athletes for publicity courier to wipe the distrusts to the United States since the Iraqi war. In the ariticle Michelle Kwan, the famous fiugre skater, was itnroduced. I am skeptical whether this will wipe distrusts of the United States. When I read this aricle, I thought that the U.S. government is using famous and popular people just to make a good image of America. But it gave me a bad image that the U.S. government is trying to dodge and varnish about the Iraqi war. I ask them for the content more, not the appearance. It even lowen my image of the named people who joined this like Michell Kwan.
