the aged abuse

According to YOMIURI SHINBUN, the number of the old aged abuse which is not reported by home for aged is 10 times bigger than that is reported. That means these abuses are usually missed. The government has the low to save the old aged from ill-treatment, but about 70% of officials don’t know details. One of the reasons about it is that about 50% of victims are too old to report by themselves. Most of old people who live in the hospitals for aged do not have ability to take care by themselves. Similarly, there are also many abuses which are not reported inside homes of old people. Over 40% of people who abuse the elderly are victim’s sons or husbands. Even if the victim can report by themselves, they cannot do so because it is hard for them to charge their family. Certainly, it is difficult for us to find these abuses in regular life, but I think having a good relationship with neighbor is useful to reduce these incidents. If we keep up with neighbors, we can know the situation of them and find some accidents soon.
