Breakthrough of the Year 2007
Each year, the editors and news staff of Science look back at the big science stories of the past 12 months, and dub one of them the Breakthrough of the Year. Science selected Prof. Shinya Yamanaka - Kyoto Univ. and so on as second poision. They made induced pluripotent stem cells. Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells are believed to be identical to natural pluripotent stem cells. Because it is no life ethical problem, it is hoped to use for Tissue Engineering.
